Restored family photos from the expertise of
Modern Man

Above left looks like Christmas at Aunt Bertha's around 1955-1956, above right Dad's helping with dishes.  Notice the chamber
pot on the lower left of the shot.  Also note the small heater on the right of the photo.  Being there was truly magical.

Looks like someone got a Doctor's Bag from Santa Claus and were practicing on little Modern.  Middle photo is me, Modern and Mom playing
with his new dinosaurs and on the right looks like Modern playing with his sisters in the dining room at home a few years later.

Above left in front of Aunt Bertha's little home in Thief River Falls, Minnesota L - R: Mom (Marcy Bruns), Aunt Aggie Stokke, Aunt Bertha Hastad,
Aunt Thora Timm, Grandma Myrtle Kelly and husband Harry.
(about 1957)  In the middle is Mom looking all gorgeous standing in front of our home in Fargo, ND
in the early 50s maybe?  On the right is cousin Richard Stokke sitting on the ground and little Modern at about age 3.

On the left is our family home in the late 1940s and on the right is about 20 years later.  I'll always remember the clicky-clack and the mournful
whistles of the trains as they rolled along the nearby tracks during the night.  The house would actually move slightly as they went by because the
tracks were only a block north of our home.

Above left is Mom in front of 415 N. 12th St. in Fargo, ND on her new beige bike with Modern in the basket.  Middle photo is Modern being a good boy
and standing still for this picture and on the right is another photo of Modern in front of a station wagon in 1955.

Must have been the folks' anniversary (wed on March 17, 1945) because they're both dressed up and Mom has a corsage.  On the right is definitely a
Christmas picture because our dolls look new.  Laying in front is Patty and in the back L-R is me, Bub and Modern.

Above left is our little family in about 1955, Modern in front and in the back Bubby, me and Patty.  In the middle photo are the top of our little, hairy heads in
about 1954 since Modern looks to be about one.  On the right is a visit from Aunt Bertha and she must've just arrived because her luggage is sitting on the floor.

On the left is baby Modern with our precious kitty Sunseray.  Middle photo is Johnny Wilhauf, dad's helper for many years with Modern
and Mom.  They are next to our garage.  On the right is our kitchen before Mom had it remodeled in the early 1960s.

About 1955 in our kitchen.  I must've taken the picture
because the photo is taken from the height of a 9-10 year
old AND I'm the only one not in the shot.  From left to right
you have Patty, who looks like a model in this photo, then
Modern, Dad in the back, Bradley Johnson our neighbor
in the corner, Uncle Ed Larson, Bubby and Mom.

This is a scene we all saw many times, Gramma
alone in the kitchen enjoying the last of her coffee after supper.

Oh, I wish I had those days to do over again,
I'd ask her so many many questions, we'd never stop.

She is still a mystery to me and always will be.
